Research interests:

♦ migrations within Poland and Europe - different groups of migrants (refugees, repatriates, transmigrants, etc.) and their specifics

♦ problems of adaptation, acculturation, assimilation, integration, enculturation of foreigners

♦ ethnic policy in Poland and other European Union countries

♦ ethnic conflicts

♦ Germans in Greater Poland past and present (the process of the formation of the German nation, Polish-German relations in everyday life in the 18th - 21st centuries, the integration processes of German settlers throughout history, migrations of Poles to Germany, the contemporary phenomenon of transnationalism)

♦ Bambergers (reconstruction of history, causes and course of assimilation, acculturation, contemporary descendants of the Bamberg settlers, identity of group members)

The most important scientific projects:

 2023 an investigator in the project “Supporting the integration of migrants in the local labour market in the municipalities of the Poznań district” [original title: "Wsparcie integracji migrantów na lokalnym rynku pracy w gminach powiatu poznańskiego"], carried out by CeBaM Fundation.

 2015 - 2018, a key investigator in the ethnological project financed by the National Science Centre, titled “Poles of the Success. Between Emigration and Transnationality: New Aspect of the Polish Diaspora in Western Europe” [original title: "Polacy sukcesu między emigracją a transnarodowością. Nowe oblicze polskiej diaspory w Europie Zachodniej", No. 2014/13/B/HS3/04927, ID 254410, project manager - prof. Aleksander Posern-Zieliński].

♦ 2013 -2015, an investigator in the project “Socio-cultural identification of foreigners” [original title: “Społeczno-kulturowa identyfikacja cudzoziemców”] under the supervision of prof UAM (Adam Mickiewicz University) dr hab. Jacek Schmidt.

2009-2012, a project manager in the ethnological project financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education/National Science Centre (NCN), Poland, titled “Transnationalism in the Polish-German context. The Germans in Poznan and the Poles in Berlin” [original title: "Transnarodowość w kontekście polsko-niemieckim. Niemcy w Poznaniu i Polacy w Berlinie", N N109 217436].
